As a Logistics Intern, you will support OBT’s logistics and shipping operations in Cameroon, gaining hands-on exposure to maritime logistics, port operations, freight forwarding, and supply-chain coordination. This role offers practical learning in a dynamic, international environment and close collaboration with experienced logistics professionals.
Job Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, maritime studies, or a related field.
Strong interest in logistics, shipping, maritime operations, and supply-chain management.
Basic understanding of logistics processes, port operations, or international trade is an advantage.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with logistics systems is a plus.
Willingness to work on-site in Cameroon and learn from hands-on operational exposure.
Fluency in English; French is an advantage.
Job Responsibilities
Assist in day-to-day logistics operations, including shipping agency activities, port calls, cargo handling, and freight forwarding coordination.
Support documentation processes (shipping documents, customs paperwork, delivery notes, etc.) to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Liaise with ports, agents, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and warehouses under the supervision of the Logistics Manager.
Track shipments and update internal systems with shipment status, transit times, and delivery milestones.
Assist in coordinating warehousing, storage, and distribution activities.
Support project cargo or special shipments where applicable (planning, scheduling, and coordination).
Help monitor operational performance indicators such as timelines, costs, and service quality.
Perform administrative and reporting tasks related to logistics and supply-chain operations.
Learn and adhere to local and international logistics, maritime, and safety regulations.
