Specialist - Transmission Planning Technology

Strategy Development and Implementation:
Network Design and Architecture:
Design robust network architectures that leverage next-generation technologies, considering scalability, redundancy, and performance optimization
Technology Selection:
Evaluate and select cutting-edge technologies and equipment For deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices
Deployment Planning:
Develop detailed deployment plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring efficient and timely execution
Testing and Validation:
Conduct thorough testing of the deployed network infostructure to validate Functionality, performance, and adherence to quality standards
Security Implementation:
Implement robust security measures within the network infrastructure, including Firewalls, encryption, and access controls, Lo safeguard against cyber threats
Issue Resolution and Troubleshooting:
identify and resolve network issues, implementing troubleshooting methodologies to minimize down time and disruptions
Performance Optimization:
Continuously monitor and optimize network performance, making adjustments as necessary to enhance efficiency and meet service level agreements (SLAs)
Provide reports and analysis to support and contribute to the development of the functional strategy in line with the overarching business goaIs
Assist the with accurate and timely reporting to enable the regular review of the functional strategy, road map, and performance to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
Assess and consolidate all TX Planning CAPEX projects and submit to Network Group Finance For budget process preparation
Participate in supplier selection For the delivery of requisite Transmission solution
Plan and manage Transmission budget
Providedirective / guidance for design of an optimized Transmission Network nodes and
elements
Follow up Transmission project execution with the team to ensure project capitalization is done as planned
Follow up with suppliers any gap that is being raised during Transmission project execution
Prepare Scope and Swap plans for planned acclivities
Follow up to ensure permanent compliance of Business Continuity Process and Disaster Recovery Plan recommendations
Explore vendors enhanced products and Features roadmaps as a proactive preparation of design architecture reviews
Bring support to any requirements coming from regulation or any unplanned revenue increase initiative from the business
Approved change related to Transmission Network
Ensure the providing of all needed documents For Transmission related projects Lo CPG For project planning process (CPB, WBS, etc.)
Coordinate the elaboration of Transmission Network Planning INP
Coordinate the elaboration of SLAs with internal customers
Provide monthly Financial, PDP, and project report to the management
Validation of process and procedure governing Transmission Network activities
Validation of Transmission Network Policies
Participate on training courses as booked or as recommended byHR
Operational, Tactical and Strategic Meetings
Provide input on all projects initiated
Review key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
Provide input in strategic meetings when required
Provide inputs into the risk mitigation and con Vols
Provide input into the preparation of proposal on change initiatives, policies, and procedures
Escalations
Esca late issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee/customer or cost impact if not resolved
Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution Function Tactical
Provide in put in to all projects initiated
Provide input into establishing objectives, targets, and budgets for the function as applicable
Identify and document key risks, issues and dependencies and sed mitigation actions
Prepare documentation required for sign-off / ma king decisions regarding operational changes
Performance
Review performance against agreed KPIs and their compliance to SLAs and reverse SLAs
Review and monitor plan for continuous improvement
Ensure execution in alignment with divisional strategy
Continuous performance monitoring and adjust strategy and actions to deliver targets Reporting
Report on a periodic basis relating to progress made within the function and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organization
Report on an ad hoc basis on specific projects, as required
Budgets
Manage sub-divisional budgets in line with business objectives
Manage project or initiative budgets in line with business objectives
Education:
B.Sc. in Electrical/ Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
Master’s degree, Certification or diploma in project management will be an advantage.
Fluent in English and French language
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years' experience in designing and implementing TX projects.
Experience working in a medium to large organization.
Experience with third party Transmission solutions providers
At least 02 major projects managed with experience and knowledge in managing successful projects
Demonstrate passed experience and strong skills in interaction with vendors, regulators, cross Functional units and other stakeholders
Functional Knowledge:
Project management
Strong knowledge of network architecture for Telecom industry
Strong knowledge of Transmission Planning (Microwave and Fiber)
Good understanding of radio (2G/3G/4G/5G) network planning & optimization techniques and constraints
Understanding of wider trends in the international and local telecoms industry.
Be computer and internet literate.
Understand principles of software & database development.
Good understanding of the principles of IP basics (addressing, routing VLANs, VPN, etc.)
Map reading skills.
Advanced working understanding of the Information technologyenvironment of a Telecom company
