We are looking for a talented and experienced professional to join our Network Planning and Engineering department as a Specialist - Radio Planning and Optimization. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and executing radio network strategies, ensuring our regional teams have the necessary tools and plans to deliver an optimal network experience. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the translation of high-level network strategies into actionable plans, and you will collaborate closely with various departments and external partners to achieve our goals.
Support the development and execution of radio network strategies, ensuring alignment with HO guidelines.
Translate network strategies into long-range and near-term plans, driving their implementation within regional teams.
Assist with regional access network controller node planning and site capacity planning, considering future technologies and marketing initiatives.
Produce detailed designs for regional radio network planning, considering optimization requirements and ensuring integration into the live network.
Research and evaluate technologies and processes to improve network quality while maintaining profitability.
Forecast traffic and capacity requirements, translating high-level plans into detailed configurations.
Identify equipment installation locations, considering engineering principles, coverage statistics, and market requirements.
Specify hardware/software requirements and testing procedures, ensuring the integrity of the live network.
Monitor network performance, escalate issues, and provide continuous improvement feedback to meet objectives.
Minimum of a Masters degree in Electric/Electronic/ Telecommunications Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Radio Planning & Optimisation, with GSM and/or UMTS expertise.
Fluent in English and the local language is preferred.
Industry-specific and Vendor-specific training in GSM/WCDMA/LTE/WiFi technologies.
Proficiency in radio network planning tools and techniques, including frequency planning and refarming.
Understanding of drive test tools and radio technology, including GSM, UMTS, LTE, and Wifi.
Knowledge of Radio system design, principles, and RF propagation, as well as the operational level of BSS
Familiarity with international and local telecom industry trends, especially in Network Planning and Optimisation.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface with various departments and vendors.
